Natalie Scholtz (b.1981) is a British born, Persian South African, Perth raised visual artist. Self-taught, her works are not literal depictions of reality, but are rather physical acts of communication that evoke emotion, gesture and the conflicting aspects of being. Fable-like images of masked self-portraits, floating figures and faces are explored on canvas, board and paper.
“Living and working on Ships of the Desert camel farm all those years ago was a foundation to my relationship with Broome. From walking the camels through the dunes each day and night, to friendships that turned into family, this place definitely gets under your skin”.
